The sight of a derelict building with such a magnificent and historical past was the main inspiration behind our effort to bring it back to life and revive its original function.
Its renovation was based upon an inspired architectural study and the accompanying interior decoration plan, which paid all due respect to the character and history of the building. Only in particular cases, where stability issues were of concern, did the necessary interventions take place, in support of the existing walls. Interior and exterior colors and materials were chosen in accordance with the natural scenery of the island. In the northwest part of the site, two contemporary structures complement and complete the unit, blending well with the nearby surroundings and style of the original building. In- between the three buildings, a stone built yard with an uninterrupted view to the sea, full of jasmines, lilies, trees and local wild flowers, provides the necessary environment for a pleasant and contemplating stay.

A robust stone wall surrounds the whole complex. All materials used were extracted from the hotel’s territory, whilst digging deep to reinforce the basis of the aged building and to clear the ground for the construction of the contemporary auxiliary structures, in tandem with our philosophy of making the most of the locally available material.
The interior design of Krinos Suites Hotel is a blend of minimalist and relaxing elements, enriched with artistic photographic material from the island and the various periods of the building’s history and renovation. On the ground floor of the main building one can find the Krinos Art Café, which hosts various social events and exhibitions. It is a place of cordial reception and rest, where one can energise himself with fresh juices, high quality coffee, healthy beverages, homemade liqueurs and sweets, as well as mouth-watering organic treats, surrounded by selected atmospheric musical sounds. The Krinos Art Café also offers visitors the opportunity to experience the attractive topography and history of the island in all its expressions, through rich photographic material and literary works available from the library of the unit. Adorable original features and artifacts from Krinos’ past carry the visitor to an emotional journey through its unique history.
The nearby wind-shielded beach, apart from the seductive view it offers to our garden and verandas, is remarkably easy to access, since it lies just twenty meters from the hotel. For several consecutive years the beach in Batsi has been awarded the internationally acclaimed "Blue Flag", meeting strict criteria for water quality, environmental management and safety. Batsi beach is an organized beach managed by the municipality of Ydroussa, with shallow and safe waters, ideal for families with children.
Whether the guest wants to follow the hiking trails or prefer relaxing strolls, visit places of unique natural beauty or get acquainted with picturesque beaches, enjoy water sports or sailing lessons, plenty of options are available to those seeking to creatively fill their time.
